WAFA/WFR Recertification course 2026
The three-day Open Recert course may be used as a WAFA or WFR recertification option for those with a current WMA International or other qualifying WAFA/WFR. This course must be taken within three years of receiving the Wilderness Medical Associates' WAFA or WFR certificate

The course will start at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, December 8th and will finish at approximately 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 10th 2026.
COURSE LOCATION & TRAVEL INFO
Outward Bound Center "Château Varoy": 104, rue de la Molignée, 5537 Anhée, Belgium
The Outward Bound Center can easily be reached by car.
The nearest train station is Yvoir, at about 4 kms from the Outward Bound Center.
If you plan on taking a plane to Belgium, the easiest way to get to our course house is by flying to Brussels (not Brussels South – Charleroi!) and taking a direct train from Brussels to Yvoir.
ACCOMMODATION & CATERING
The new Outward Bound Center offers 12 double/triple bedrooms.
All meals (from lunch on day 1 until lunch on the last day) will be provided by Outward Bound: breakfast and lunch in self catering, dinner will be delivered by a caterer.
You may arrive the evening of December 7th and/or stay until the morning of December 11th if this is more convenient for you. An additional cost of 43,50€ will be charged per extra overnight stay (breakfast included). Please be aware that we don’t offer any catering on December 8th.

Please complete the form, and deposit €200,00 registering on Outward Bound’s bank account(1) to reserve your place with mention of your name and ‘Deposit – Recert 2026.

After registration and payment of the deposit, you will receive an enrolment key at the beginning of September which will give you access to your WMA course materials on the WMA moodle platform. WMA utilizes this learning management system for pre-course paperwork (i.e. waivers) and to disseminate information.
You will receive an invoice for the remainder of the sum. Payment of the invoice must take place no later than 2 weeks prior to the start of the Open Recert course. Outward Bound Belgium™ reserves the right to deny access to the course to any registrant who has not paid in full prior to the start of the course.
