CO2 Compensation
A better climate starts, among other things, with reducing our CO2 emissions. At the same time, as a society, we cannot (yet) avoid all CO2 emissions. In such cases, CO2 compensation is a way to reduce our negative impact on the climate — for example, by actively planting trees that “capture” your CO2 from the air.
However, CO2 compensation is merely a tool to help us move more quickly toward a sustainable world. To truly make a difference for our climate, prevention is better than cure. That’s why we recommend reducing your CO2 emissions first, and only then compensating for the remainder. So when planning your trip to, for example, Château Varoy, consider traveling by train, public transport, bicycle, on foot, or by carpooling.
The remaining CO2 emissions can be compensated by contributing to the preservation and care of our Natura 2000 area. Through CO2 compensation, we actively invest in biodiversity, forest conservation, and forest protection at domain Varoy and the Forêt de la Creûte in Anhée.
Calculate Your CO₂ Emissions
You can offset your CO₂ emissions by transferring the calculated amount to the compensation account of the Outward Bound Training Center: BE31 2300 5088 0055, with the reference “CO2 compensation”.
With your donation, we don’t just plant trees that capture as much CO₂ as possible. Equally important is that the trees we plant provide added value for the plants and animals in our Natura 2000 area. That’s why we plant native and locally adapted trees and shrubs that naturally belong on our estate in Anhée.
Thanks to these donations, we are also able to actively invest in sustainable partnerships with local stakeholders, helping to preserve and enhance the biodiversity of our unique domain.
